A problem of ages

The workings:

The divertimento we propose today is – again, as if it were a tradition in the entertainment section – about two friends who meet again and compare their ages. Nothing is said about the reasons that have kept them apart during the interval of time mentioned, although in these times it is not difficult to imagine facemasks and a random encounter. Although we prefer to think, coinciding with the announcement of the start of vaccination in the United Kingdom, of an expected reunion in which they celebrate a tradition.

The fun:

After some time without seeing each other, Alberto and Manolo meet in the street and talk about their ages. “When you are my age,” says Manolo, “I will be twice as old as you were when I was your age”.

Years later they meet again and Alberto comments now: “Manolo, if we could add a year to your age, what you told me at our last meeting would still be true”. “You’re right!,” replies Manolo, “and besides, my age would be a palindrome number”.

How old were each other the year of the first meeting and how many years did it take them to see each other again?
