On January 15, 2024, the Higher Technical School of Building Engineering (ETSIE) at the University of Seville hosted the first ECO Meeting, an innovative activity focused on resonant teaching, aimed at professors and students from various disciplines. For three hours, participants immersed themselves in a space of reflection, exploration, and co-creation of new ways of teaching using the ECO methodology (Explore, Create, Offer).
\nThis first meeting focused on formulating the principles of \u201cresonant teaching\u201d\u2014that is, an approach that not only transmits knowledge but also generates enthusiasm, fosters enjoyment, and contributes to the growth of both students and teachers. From this perspective, the group, composed of nine professors and an educational advisor from Chile\u2019s National Board of Early Childhood Education, succeeded in defining the fundamental pillars of what it means to be a teacher in the 21st century.
\nA key moment of the meeting was the use of the ECO\u00ae Formal Game (ECO_FG)<\/strong>, a playful methodology based on the concept of serious play and inspired by the famous LEGO\u00ae Serious Play\u00ae. This technique enabled participants to express abstract and personal ideas through three-dimensional constructions with wooden pieces, facilitating reflection and self-awareness of their identity as educators.<\/p>\n

The most significant outcome of the day was the collective creation of a decalogue of principles for impactful teaching:<\/p>\n

  • Fostering an environment of trust,<\/li>\n
  • Promoting team-based learning,<\/li>\n
  • Encouraging creativity and enjoyment in the classroom,<\/li>\n
  • Ensuring fair and equitable teaching.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This meeting marked the beginning of a series of three events aimed at reviewing the implementation of these principles in teaching practice and continuing to evolve toward a more resonant and transformative education. The event facilitator, Eduardo A. Herrero V\u00e1zquez, emphasized the importance of sharing the lessons learned, as the resonance of this experience has the potential to extend beyond academic boundaries.
    \nThe ECO Meeting makes it clear that the future of teaching lies in a more human, collaborative approach, committed to the holistic development of the student.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
