Based on the new regulations governing doctoral studies, at a meeting of 13 July 2011, the Governing Board of the University of Seville established the means whereby students can access Doctoral programmes. Specifically, in terms of their prior qualifications, the requirements for access are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Candidates with a degree qualification with 240 ECTS: they must have completed a university Master\u2019s degree that includes at least six methodological research training credits and the Master\u2019s thesis must be based on research.<\/li>\n<li>During the first year, candidates with a degree qualification with 240 ECTS who have not completed a Master\u2019s degree with research training, but another type of official Master\u2019s degree, must complete the additional training specified by the academic committee.<\/li>\n<li>During the first year, graduates whose qualifications include at least 300 ECTS credits must complete the additional training specified by the academic committee.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates who have obtained a Doctor\u2019s degree in accordance with the above university ordinations or who are in possession of the DEA (R.D. 778\/1998) or sufficient research achievements (RD 185\/1985): the academic committee will decide whether to admit them directly or whether they must complete additional training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Candidates holding a university Master\u2019s degree from foreign education systems may be admitted to the Doctoral programme without needing to get official approval of their qualifications when the University of Seville has checked a level of training equivalent to Spanish university Master\u2019s degrees, including the equivalent research training to that required by other students, and the degree issued in the country in question gives access to the doctoral studies. This admission will not imply, under any circumstances, official approval of the prior qualification held by the interested party for purposes other than studying for the Doctorate.<\/p>\n<h3>&#8211; Specific admission criteria:<\/h3>\n<p>In addition to the aforementioned criteria, the programme establishes the following specific conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degrees in Business Administration and Management, Research and Market Techniques, Economy, Tourism or Higher Engineering, with a Master\u2019s in areas similar to the objectives and lines of research of the Doctoral programme.<\/li>\n<li>Graduates in Business Administration and Management, Research and Market Techniques, Economy, Tourism, Finances and Accounting or Higher Engineering, with a Master\u2019s degree in areas similar to the objectives and lines of research of the Doctoral programme.<\/li>\n<li>Degree holders and graduates in other branches of knowledge, with a Master\u2019s degree in similar areas to the objectives and lines of research of the Doctoral programme.<\/li>\n<li>Sufficient knowledge of the English language to enable the student to follow the seminars, conferences and scientific discussions.<\/li>\n<li>Motivation and interest in research in the area of international business and strategic business management, and a proactive attitude towards continuous learning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Candidates should submit their applications for admission to the corresponding administrative centre. This application must be accompanied by the following information:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full personal information. If appropriate, the information includes details of any special needs due to the candidate\u2019s disability. The Academic Committee will also be asked for authorisation to study part time in accordance with the applicable law.<\/li>\n<li>Complete, up-to-date Curriculum Vitae with details of the candidate\u2019s professional and research experience.<\/li>\n<li>Cover letter expressing the candidate\u2019s interest in participating in the Doctoral programme and in carrying out the Doctoral thesis in the area of business management and international business.<\/li>\n<li>Copies of documents proving that the candidate meets all the requirements of the current regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The academic committee of the doctoral programme is responsible for analysing student applications and deciding whether they are suitable to participate in the Doctoral programme.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>&#8211; Part-time students:<\/h3>\n<p>[dt_sc_toggle_framed title=\u00bbSee documentation\u00bb] Sabiendo de la necesaria flexibilidad para conjugar la vida laboral con la formaci\u00f3n y especializaci\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica e investigadora, el Programa de Doctorado GENI prev\u00e9 la admisi\u00f3n de estudiantes con dedicaci\u00f3n a tiempo parcial. Ser\u00e1 la Comisi\u00f3n Acad\u00e9mica del Programa de Doctorado GENI la encargada de valorar y autorizar la admisi\u00f3n de estudiantes a tiempo parcial al Programa de Doctorado GENI, tal y como se establece en le regulaci\u00f3n establecida a tal efecto por la Universidad de Sevilla.<\/p>\n<p>En relaci\u00f3n a los estudiantes a tiempo parcial, la Universidad establece que el art\u00edculo 46.2, apartado k) de la Ley Org\u00e1nica 6\/2001, de Universidades, en redacci\u00f3n dada por la Ley Org\u00e1nica 4\/2007, establece que los estudiantes tendr\u00e1n derecho a una atenci\u00f3n que facilite compaginar los estudios con la actividad laboral.<\/p>\n<p>El Real Decreto 99\/2011, de 28 de enero, por el que se aprueban las ense\u00f1anzas oficiales de doctorado, establece en su art\u00edculo 3, que previa autorizaci\u00f3n de la comisi\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica responsable del correspondiente programa de doctorado, podr\u00e1n realizarse estudios de doctorado a tiempo parcial.<\/p>\n<p>El Real Decreto 1791\/2010, de 30 de diciembre, por el que se aprueba el Estatuto del Estudiante Universitario, determina en su art\u00edculo 7.2, que las administraciones p\u00fablicas con competencias en materia universitaria y las universidades establecer\u00e1n, dentro de sus disponibilidades presupuestarias, las medidas que sean necesarias para que los estudiantes a tiempo parcial puedan ejercer los derechos a los que se refiere el apartado 1 del citado precepto, y en especial, la obtenci\u00f3n de cualificaciones a trav\u00e9s de trayectorias de aprendizaje flexibles. A\u00f1adiendo a continuaci\u00f3n que, a estos efectos, los estudiantes que lo deseen solicitar\u00e1n el reconocimiento de estudiante a tiempo parcial a su universidad, que proceder\u00e1 a identificar esta condici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Art\u00edculo 1. R\u00e9gimen de dedicaci\u00f3n a tiempo parcial de los estudiantes de doctorado de la Universidad de Sevilla<\/p>\n<p>Se considerar\u00e1n estudiantes con dedicaci\u00f3n al estudio a tiempo parcial aquellos que lo soliciten y obtengan la autorizaci\u00f3n por la Comisi\u00f3n Acad\u00e9mica del programa de doctorado en el que desean realizar la matr\u00edcula.<\/p>\n<p>La solicitud ir\u00e1 dirigida al presidente de la Comisi\u00f3n de Acad\u00e9mica del programa de doctorado que deber\u00e1 informar de la autorizaci\u00f3n a la oficina responsable de los estudios de Doctorado de la Universidad de Sevilla.<\/p>\n<p>Quedar\u00e1n excluidos de la posibilidad de ser considerados estudiante a tiempo parcial todas las personas cuya vinculaci\u00f3n con la Universidad de Sevilla u otra universidad o entidad p\u00fablica o privada impliquen obligatoriamente la realizaci\u00f3n de una tesis doctoral durante el tiempo de ejecuci\u00f3n de la beca o contrato.<\/p>\n<p>Art\u00edculo 2. Duraci\u00f3n de estudios de doctorado para estudiantes a tiempo completo y parcial y permanencia<\/p>\n<p>La duraci\u00f3n de dichos estudios ser\u00e1 la establecida en el Real Decreto 99\/2011 de 28 de Enero y recogidas en la normativa de estudios de doctorado de la Universidad de Sevilla (acuerdo del Consejo de Gobierno de 17 de Junio de 2011). Seg\u00fan el art\u00edculo 3.2 del Real Decreto 99\/2011 de 28 de Enero, para el estudiante a tiempo completo, la duraci\u00f3n de los estudios ser\u00e1 de un m\u00e1ximo de tres a\u00f1os desde la admisi\u00f3n al programa hasta la presentaci\u00f3n de la tesis. Si transcurrido el plazo de tres a\u00f1os no se hubiera presentado la solicitud de dep\u00f3sito de la tesis, la comisi\u00f3n responsable del programa podr\u00e1 autorizar la pr\u00f3rroga de este plazo por un a\u00f1o m\u00e1s, que excepcionalmente podr\u00eda ampliarse por otro a\u00f1o adicional. Para el estudiante a tiempo parcial, la duraci\u00f3n m\u00e1xima se establece en cinco a\u00f1os, con una pr\u00f3rroga por dos a\u00f1os m\u00e1s que, excepcionalmente, podr\u00eda ampliarse por otro a\u00f1o adicional.<\/p>\n<p>En todo caso, la permanencia en los estudios estar\u00e1 condicionada, seg\u00fan lo establecido en dicha normativa, a la obtenci\u00f3n de los informes favorables del plan de investigaci\u00f3n y de las actividades del doctorando por la Comisi\u00f3n Acad\u00e9mica del Programa. Para la permanencia en el programa ser\u00e1 indispensable, tambi\u00e9n, el cumplimiento de todos los supuestos considerados en el compromiso documental firmado por parte del estudiante de doctorado al inicio de sus estudios.<\/p>\n<p>Todo lo anterior ser\u00e1 de aplicaci\u00f3n sin perjuicio de lo dispuesto en el art\u00edculo 31.3 del Reglamento General de Investigaci\u00f3n (Acuerdo 1\/CU 19-5-11) por el que se indica que los estudiantes de doctorado que impartan docencia oficial ser\u00e1n considerados estudiantes a tiempo parcial.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">  <\/span>[\/dt_sc_toggle_framed]<\/p>\n<h3>&#8211; Students with special academic needs:<\/h3>\n<p>[dt_sc_toggle_framed title=\u00bbSee documentation\u00bb] En el Programa de Doctorado GENI, los estudiantes con necesidades espec\u00edficas especiales tendr\u00e1n la consideraci\u00f3n de estudiantes a tiempo parcial, tal y como se establece en la normativa de la Universidad de Sevilla que regula el acceso a Programas de Doctorado por parte de estudiantes con necesidades acad\u00e9micas especiales. Esta regulaci\u00f3n es la siguiente:<\/p>\n<p>El art\u00edculo 26 del Acuerdo 3\/CU 19-3-09, por el que se aprueba el Reglamento General de Estudiantes de la Universidad de Sevilla, establece que los estudiantes con necesidades acad\u00e9micas especiales puedan realizar sus estudios a tiempo parcial.<\/p>\n<p>Art\u00edculo 1. Definici\u00f3n de estudiante con necesidades acad\u00e9micas especiales<\/p>\n<p>Se considerar\u00e1n estudiantes con necesidades especiales aquellos que lo soliciten y acrediten alguna de las circunstancias que se enumeran a continuaci\u00f3n, y obtengan el reconocimiento expreso de esta condici\u00f3n mediante acuerdo de la Comisi\u00f3n de Doctorado de la Universidad de Sevilla, previa autorizaci\u00f3n por la Comisi\u00f3n Acad\u00e9mica del programa de doctorado en el que desean realizar la matr\u00edcula. La solicitud ir\u00e1 dirigida al presidente de la Comisi\u00f3n de Acad\u00e9mica del programa de doctorado que deber\u00e1 remitir la propuesta de autorizaci\u00f3n al presidente de la Comisi\u00f3n de Doctorado de la Universidad de Sevilla.<\/p>\n<p>Se consideran como supuestos que dan derecho a solicitar el reconocimiento de la condici\u00f3n de estudiante necesidad acad\u00e9mica especial los siguientes:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>a) Estar afectado por una discapacidad f\u00edsica, ps\u00edquica o sensorial, en un grado igual o superior al 33 por ciento, debiendo acreditarlo mediante certificaci\u00f3n emitida por el organismo competente para el reconocimiento de esta discapacidad.<\/li>\n<li>b) Tener la consideraci\u00f3n de v\u00edctimas de actos de terrorismo, debiendo justificarlo mediante la aportaci\u00f3n de la certificaci\u00f3n correspondiente expedida por el \u00f3rgano competente, de acuerdo con la Ley que regula esta situaci\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<li>c) Tener la consideraci\u00f3n de v\u00edctima de violencia de g\u00e9nero, debiendo acreditarlo mediante la aportaci\u00f3n de la documentaci\u00f3n que justifique el reconocimiento de esta situaci\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<li>d) Tener la consideraci\u00f3n de cuidador principal de personas dependientes, debiendo acreditarlo mediante la presentaci\u00f3n de documentaci\u00f3n justificativa y certificaci\u00f3n expedida por el organismo competente para el reconocimiento de la situaci\u00f3n de dependencia.<\/li>\n<li>e) Tener hijos menores de tres a\u00f1os a cargo. Debiendo acreditarlo mediante la aportaci\u00f3n de la documentaci\u00f3n justificativa de esta situaci\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<li>f) Estar incluido en el \u00e1mbito de aplicaci\u00f3n de un convenio suscrito con otras universidades que contemplen esta situaci\u00f3n, para garantizar la movilidad de los estudiantes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Art\u00edculo 2. Duraci\u00f3n de estudios y permanencia<\/p>\n<p>La duraci\u00f3n de dichos estudios ser\u00e1 la establecida en el Real Decreto 99\/2011 de 28 de Enero y recogidas en la normativa de estudios de doctorado de la Universidad de Sevilla (acuerdo del Consejo de Gobierno de 17 de Junio de 2011) para estudiantes a tiempo parcial.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan el art\u00edculo 3.2 del Real Decreto 99\/2011 de 28 de Enero, para el estudiante a tiempo completo, la duraci\u00f3n de los estudios ser\u00e1 de un m\u00e1ximo de tres a\u00f1os desde la admisi\u00f3n al programa hasta la presentaci\u00f3n de la tesis. Para la permanencia en el programa ser\u00e1 indispensable, tambi\u00e9n, el cumplimiento de todos los supuestos considerados en el compromiso documental firmado por parte del estudiante de doctorado al inicio de sus estudios.<br \/>\n[\/dt_sc_toggle_framed]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>&#8211; Procedure for assigning the tutor and thesis supervisor:<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/institucional.us.es\/docgestra\/seguimiento-y-supervision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">For details of the assignment process, visit the Follow-up and Supervision section<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>3.3 ADDITIONAL TRAINING<\/h2>\n<p>All matters pertaining to additional training regarding its planning by the University of Seville and its characteristics are available at:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.doctorado.us.es\/impresos\/verificacion\/informacion_ctos_formacion.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/www.doctorado.us.es\/impresos\/verificacion\/informacion_ctos_formacion.pdf<\/a><br \/>\nAs established in the general admission criteria for this Doctoral programme, having received a request from the candidate to be included, and once the Academic Committee has reviewed all the documentation submitted, the Academic Committee may draft an additional training proposal. This additional training, for a maximum of 18 ECTS research credits, will be linked to certain materials and seminars associated with the Master\u2019s degree in Strategic Management and International Business of the University of Seville, or following the courses offered in the context of the official Master\u2019s degrees of the University of Seville. In general, and notwithstanding individual evaluations of the Academic Committee, students accessing the Doctoral programme through a Master\u2019s degree without research content or through a Degree with at least 300 credits must complete additional training in the course on \u201cResearch Methodology\u201d of the Master\u2019s degree in Strategic Management and International Business of the University of Seville.<\/p>\n<p>Students who access based on prior doctoral studies with sufficient research or with equivalent foreign studies in terms of training and content will be analysed individually by the Committee. In any case, when planning this proposal, the Academic Committee will consider whether the student is applying to study full time or part time in the Doctoral programme, or if the candidate has special academic needs.<\/p>\n<p>Students who are required to complete specific training to be admitted to the Doctoral programme must obtain the qualifications required within one academic year. During that academic year, the student will be considered a doctoral candidate once provisionally admitted to the programme. When students complete the additional training, they will be permanently admitted to the Doctoral programme.<\/p>\n<p>Enrolment of doctoral students in training within a university Master\u2019s degree will be necessary for doctoral students who must complete additional training for the purpose of complying with the admission requirements established for the Doctoral programme. The body responsible for the university Master\u2019s degree must give written authorisation for these students\u2019 enrolment in the Master&#8217;s degree.<\/p>\n<p>Students must enrol for the requisite additional training at the university of the Master\u2019s degree and pay the public fees for the academic year that they are enrolling for, which may be simultaneous to enrolment for academic tutelage for the doctoral thesis.<\/p>\n<p>Students who do not successfully complete the additional training will be rejected from the Doctoral programme and the enrolment for academic tutelage will be cancelled. In these cases, the time used is not included in the student&#8217;s continuity.<\/p>\n<p>Additional training completed by students enrolling under this scheme will be specified on their official qualification certificates.
