Título: A Transdisciplinary Approach to Co-designing Social and Emotional Learning Programs

Activity: Lecture recognized in the PhD Psychology program

Lecturer: Dr Claire Blewitt

Dr Claire Blewitt is a postdoctoral fellow in the Health and Social Care Unit at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Her background in developmental psychology and, before that, engineering and environmental sustainability, has led to an interest in transdisciplinary research. Claire works across education, health, and social care to co-design, implement, and evaluate approaches to strengthen children’s development and positive mental health. She uses program planning and implementation science frameworks to develop programs with early childhood professionals, community members, and children that break through the silos that can exist between disciplines. Her current research focuses on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), trauma-informed practice, and equity in education, including leading a 3-year randomized controlled trial of SEL programming in early childhood settings, funded by the Australian Government Research Council.
