Training and Evaluation

Throughout the Doctoral Program, different types of training activities will be carried out. These activities will be of cross-cutting nature as well as stable and temporary. Here is a list of them:

  • Attendance at conferences, seminars, workshops and congresses, both national and international, on specific topics.
  • Participation in research projects of groups related to the line of research, to learn their work methodology.
  • Presentation of research papers at specific conferences, both national and international.
  • Publication of predoctoral research papers in national and international journals.
  • Possibility of obtaining predoctoral or exchange scholarships by attending regional and/or state programs.
  • Carrying out short training stays, in national or international centers, to delve into techniques and knowledge related to the line of research.
  • Coordination with the other research groups within the program, through sectoral meetings with the other heads of the lines of research and the Academic Committee.
  • Internal seminars for the student who is carrying out the Research Report to present their progress and the problems encountered during the development of the research.

The evaluation and verification of competencies of enrolled students will follow the basic principles taken from RD 99/2011.

The Academic Commission will guarantee the quality of the Doctoral Program and will appoint ad hoc tribunals for the evaluation of the research work. The presentation and defense of the report will take place on the dates agreed by the thesis director and the Doctorate Academic Committee. The rules relating to the presentation and reading of the doctoral thesis are detailed in the regulations for doctoral studies of the University of Seville.
