Current Leadership…

The Observatory is an international organization of research, policy and practice leaders who are committed to promoting safe, supportive, equitable and engaging climates for learning in children and adolescents schools that further school safety, school and life success.

The Observatory is current lead by Prof. Rosario del Rey (2020 to 2025) and Prof. Verónica López (2023-2028) who are the co-presidents:

CO-PRESIDENT

Rosario Del Rey, Ph.D. (Universidad de Sevilla)

Rosario Del Rey, Ph.D., is the co-president of the International Observatory of School Climate and Violence Prevention.

Del Rey is a Full Professor in Educational Psychology at Universidad de Sevilla and Principal Investigator of the research group “Interpersonal Agression and Socio-Emotional Development (IASED)”. His research work focuses on the analysis and improvement of school violence and cyberviolence among adolescents and young people, in particular bullying and cyberbullying, as well as sexting and cyberhate.

She is the author of a large number of books and book chapters, articles in scientific journals and scientific-informative publications. Throughout her extensive career, she has participated in different events of international prestige. In addition, she is currently actively involved in various regional, national and international research projects related to these topics.

CO-PRESIDENT

Verónica López, Ph.D. (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Chile)

Verónica López, Ph.D., is the co-president of the International Observatory of School Climate and Violence Prevention.

López is a Full Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and Director of the Research Centre for Inclusive Education and PACES.

Academic with a strong interest in research and teaching on issues related to the conditions that favour school learning and the socio-emotional development among children and adolescents. In recent years she has deepened her research in the area of school coexistence. In teaching, she is interested in training at undergraduate and postgraduate level in areas related to school coexistence, school learning from a psycho- and socio-educational perspective, and educational inclusion.

ASSISTANT

 Esperanza Espino (Universidad Loyola Andalucía) – Spain. 

Esperanza Espino, PhD in Psychology, is the technical secretary of IOSCVP. She is responsible for the operation of the website, as well as the dissemination of information. She is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology in the Universidad Loyola Andalucía. Her line of research focuses on understanding the specific conditions under which trajectories of bullying and/or cyberbullying victimisation, or their consequences, are more severe, e.g. poly-involvement, stability or situations of vulnerability, such as LGBTQ+.
