The evaluation of the Country Strategic Plan (CSP) for Mali for 2020-2024 was commissioned by the WFP Evaluation Office. Its dual purpose is to provide an account of past actions and to facilitate learning, and to inform the development of the next CSP for Mali.

The evaluation covered WFP activities under the interim Transitional Country Strategic Plan (TCSP-C) for 2018-2019 and under the CSP for 2020-2024. It was conducted between March 2023 and April 2024 by an independent external team using a mixed-methods approach based on theoretical principles.

The evaluation is primarily intended for the WFP Country Office in Mali, the Regional Office for West Africa, the technical divisions at Headquarters in Rome, the WFP Executive Board, the Government of Mali, partner UN entities, and donors. It may also be of interest to civil society organizations and non-governmental organizations present in Mali, the private sector, WFP beneficiaries, as well as the Malian population as a whole.
