Research facilities

The Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Seville offers numerous services that provide a comprehensive infrastructure for the research development of doctoral candidates enrolled in the Doctoral Program in Chemistry. In addition to research laboratories, it has computer classrooms, wired and wireless networks, and the Antonio de Ulloa Learning and Research Resource Center (CRAI), located in the Reina Mercedes scientific and technical campus. Additionally, there are numerous classrooms and conference rooms for lectures, result presentations, work meetings, or doctoral thesis defenses. Specific details about all these spaces can be found here.

Besides the equipment in the research laboratories of the Faculty of Chemistry, doctoral candidates can utilize the General Research Services of the University of Seville. Located just a hundred meters from the Faculty of Chemistry is the University of Seville’s Research, Technology, and Innovation Center (CITIUS), which houses services of special interest to our program’s students, such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, X-Ray Diffraction, Mass Spectrometry, and Elemental Microanalysis, as well as Cryogenics, among others.

Additionally, some research groups are housed at the Institute of Chemical Research at the Isla de la Cartuja Scientific Research Center (cic-Cartuja), a mixed center of the University of Seville and the CSIC, which also has fully equipped research laboratories and general scientific-technical services, including the Campus Cartuja library, biological culture services, and transmission electron microscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance services. Furthermore, the IIQ offers elemental analysis services, mass spectrometry services, crystallography and X-ray diffraction laboratories, as well as other spectroscopic, analytical, computational techniques, and techniques for biological systems.
