Requirements to be a Tutor and/or Thesis Supervisor

PhD Tutor: To be designated as a tutor, one must be an active doctoral professor at the University of Seville with accredited research experience and participation in the doctoral program.

Thesis Director: The appointment of a doctoral thesis director can fall to any Spanish or foreign doctor with accredited research experience, regardless of the university, center, or institution where they provide their services.

Accredited research activity is understood as having at least one recognized six-year research period or equivalent scientific production.

The thesis may be co-directed by two doctors, subject to authorization from the academic committee of the doctoral program. Exceptionally, when programs are developed in national or international collaboration or when there are academic or thematic interdisciplinary reasons, three co-directors may be designated, requiring authorization from the Executive Committee of EIDUS, upon a favorable report from the academic committee. The criteria for analyzing requests for the appointment of three directors can be consulted at this link.

All information about the role of Tutor and/or Director of a thesis is available on the EIDUS website.
