Dr. Yichien Cooper advocates integrating arts, STEAM education, and arts in public places. She currently chairs the Asian Art and Culture Interests Group and has published six Chinese books on arts and culture education. Prior to that, Dr. Cooper was the Chair of the Data Visualization Working Group at the National Art Education Association and the President of the World Chinese Arts Education Association. She founded the Asian American and Pacific Islander Arts and Culture Exhibition to promote diversity and inclusion and received a Proclamation of Appreciation for her contributions as an Art Commissioner for Richland, WA.
