Clara Grima has a doctorate in mathematics from the University of Seville, an institution of which she is a tenured professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics I. She currently chairs the dissemination commission of the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society (RSME).
Her dissemination work is very broad: organization of events at all levels and for diverse audiences, giving talks and conferences, participation through the written and audiovisual media, and her presence in them.
She has received numerous awards and recognitions, among them:
- Award «Science in action» 2018 (to scientists).
- Special Prism Prize of the Jury 2018.
- Mario Bohoslavsky Prize 2018: Awarded by the ARP-Society for the Advancement of Critical Thinking.
- COSCE Award 2017 for the Diffusion of Science. Awarded by the Confederation of Scientific Societies of Spain.
- University of Seville Award for Scientific Dissemination 2017/2018 (to Los 3 pigitos)
- Equi @ t 2017 Award from the Open University of Catalonia (to female scientists).
- Bitácoras Award for the best podcast 2016 for “Los 3 Chanchitos”.
- Equality Award from the City of Gelves (Seville) 2015.
- Bronze Prisms Award from the Science Museums of La Coruña to the best website for «Mati y sus Mateaventuras».
- Best Blog Award 2011 at the 20Blogs awards for «Mati y sus Mateaventuras».
- Bitácoras Award for the Best Education Blog 2011.
Likewise, in 2018 she was named a member of the jury for the Princess of Asturias Award
