Description:

RL8 is concerned with PDE models where nonlinear interactions cannot be neglected. Research has focused on questions of existence, uniqueness, regularity, global behavior, complemented by numerical experiments for: Navier-Stokes equations, water waves and other models alike, optimal control and controllability problems; diffusion processes (kinetic models, chemotaxis, population dynamics, geotaxis); free boundaries and interfaces; optimal design and mass transport; homogenization of PDEs and geometric PDEs: study of geometrical methods in (mainly elliptic) PDEs which connect to surfaces/hypersurfaces satisfying a certain curvature condition.
