Rodríguez Bellido, María Ángeles

Her research career is linked to Partial Differential Equations (PDEs), in the study of the existence, regularity, uniqueness and asymptotic behavior of systems of Navier-Stokes PDEs with different boundary conditions (Dirichlet, Neumann and Navier), stationary and evolutionary, and some associated number schemes. The main publications deal with:
Oseen and Navier-Stokes equations: In collaboration with C. Amrouche (Univ. Pau et des Pays de l’Adour, France) on the existence of a very weak solution for the associated stationary (incompressible) problems. The compressible case was also studied in a paper published with S. Necasova (Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague).
Primitive Equations of the Ocean: Object of study in her doctoral thesis and the beginning of a fruitful academic relationship with Francisco Guillén-González (Univ. Sevilla), Nader Masmoudi (Courant Institute-NY, USA) and Didier Bresch (Univ. Savoie-CNRS, France).
Liquid Crystal Models: State of matter intermediate between liquid and solid. In collaboration with F. Guillén-González (Univ. Sevilla) and the beginning in 2002 of a fruitful academic relationship with Marko A. Rojas-Medar (Univ. Tarapacá, Chile). More recent results have been obtained introducing vesicles membranes in joints works with F. Guillén-González (Univ. Sevilla) and G. Tierra (Univ. North Texas, USA).
Boussinesq equations: They couple EDPs of the Navier-Stokes type in velocity-pressure of the fluid, with an equation for the temperature. The study of these models was part of Elder Villamizar-Roa’s doctoral thesis, co-directed with Marko Rojas-Medar.
Chemotaxis Models: Main topic of the doctoral thesis of Diego A. Rueda-Gómez (2018), co-directed with F. Guillén-González. Also published works with Elder J. Villamizar-Roa. The optimal control problem associated with this model has been studied together with Exequiel Mallea-Zepeda (Univ. Tarapacá, Chile).
She joined the Department of Differential Equations and Numerical Analysis of the University of Seville (EDAN) in 1997, first as a Fellow of the Fundación Cámara, and later as an F.P.I. of the project MAR98-0486. She worked at the Applied Mathematics Department I, Univ. Sevilla (2000-2004) and returned to EDAN in 2004. Maître de Conférence Invite at the Univ. Pau et des Pays de l’Adour (France), 2005 and 2006 (one month each year). She have carried out research stays at Univ. Clermont-Ferrand, Univ. Savoie and Univ. Pau (France), UNICAMP-SP and at Univ. Federal Pernambuco (Brazil), Univ. La Serena, UBío-Bío-Chillán and Univ. Tarapacá (Chile), UIS-Bucaramanga (Colombia) and Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague (Czech Republic).
