The Doctoral Thesis
It will consist of a work that incorporates original research results in any field of knowledge. It must enable the doctoral student to work independently in the field of R+D. The university will establish, through the academic bodies responsible for the programs, the necessary procedures to guarantee the quality of the training, supervision and doctoral thesis. In this sense, the academic bodies responsible for the programs may establish minimum requirements for the quality and impact of a thesis in order to authorize its defense. These requirements may also be established by the Doctoral Institution in which the program is affiliated.
Once the work has been completed, the student will submit the doctoral thesis as part of the procedures prior to its defense and evaluation. To do so, the student must be enrolled under academic supervision. The authorization to proceed with the presentation will be issued by the academic body responsible for the program, with the positive report of the director(s) and the tutor, if applicable.
