Argonne National Lab PostDoc
The Low Energy Nuclear Physics Group at the Physics Division is now inviting interested applicants to apply for a Postdoctoral Appointee position to conduct research in the field of Experimental Nuclear Astrophysics at the Argonne Tandem Linac Accelerator System (ATLAS). The successful candidate must have:
- Recently received his/her Ph.D. in physics or a discipline related to low energy nuclear physics within the last 3 years
- Experience at conceiving and executing experimental research projects and reporting the results
- Strong background in the area of nuclear astrophysics
- Experience with computer programming and data analysis.
The position is for 2 years, with the possibility of extension for up to 3 years depending on funding and performance. Postdoctoral Research Fellow at TRIUMF (Canada)
TRIUMF, Canada's national laboratory for particle and nuclear physics and accelerator-based science, is currently seeking Postdoctoral Research Fellows to join its Theory Department in the fall of 2019. The Department's research interests include nuclear theory, ab initio many-body methods, nuclear astrophysics, fundamental symmetries, particle phenomenology, particle cosmology, neutrino physics, and hadronic physics. The focus of the current search is low-energy theoretical nuclear physics (nucl-th).
Applicants must have a PhD in theoretical physics, awarded within the past 5 years, or scheduled to be completed prior to the position's start date. The successful candidates will show evidence of, or a strong potential for, the ability to carry out excellent research in an area that is relevant to the TRIUMF research program.
