TRAINING PHASE 3

Throughout the third academic year, FULL-TIME students must participate in training seminars for a total amount of 20 hours.

PART-TIME students will complete these 20 hours during the fifth and sixth academic years, for a minimum of 10 hours per year.

Students will have to cover at least 60% of of these hours -12 hours- (except for those who reside abroad, who must cover 30% -6 hours-) with:

  1. Seminars and/or Conferences proposed in the Annual Training Plan of the Doctoral Programme with the participation of programme lecturers and invited lecturers, both national and international
  2. Seminars proposed by the ICE (Education Sciences Institute) of the Universidad de Sevilla (through AFOROS).

The training activities in which students must participate may be linked to their line of research:

  • Seminar on Current Trends in Research on Institutional Analysis and Educational Innovation Processes
  • Seminar on Current Trends in Research on Agents and Processes of Guidance, Training and Professional Development
  • Seminar on Current Trends in Research on Information and Communication Technologies in Educational Settings
  • Seminar on Current Trends in Research on Curriculum Design, Development and Evaluation in Educational Contexts
  • Seminar on Current Trends in Educational Intervention and Evaluation Research

or related to Research Methodology and Dissemination:

  • Seminar on processes and programmes for the analysis of quantitative data in educational research
  • Seminar on processes and programmes for the analysis of qualitative data in educational research
  • Seminar on the preparation, writing and presentation of research projects.
  • Seminar on impact indexes of publications in educational research, among others.

The remaining 40% of the training hours may be covered by the student with seminars, courses or conferences outside of the programme that may contribute to their training, with the authorisation of the dissertation advisor. For students with residence abroad it will be 70%.

Full-time students must present at least one communication during their third year at a national or international conference. Part-time students must submit it during their fifth or sixth year.

Students must also participate each year in the annual Doctoral Conference organised by the programme (during the month of February), publicly presenting their dissertation project.

Within the possibilities of the programme, mobility actions, stays in institutions, groups and research projects that help doctoral training and, fundamentally, the quality of the dissertations being carried out, will be promoted and supported.

CONTROL PROCESS:  Students will apply for enrolment in each of the seminars offered by the programme. A record of attendance at the seminars will be kept. This control will determine that the activities are included in the Doctoral Student Activity Document (DAD).

Students may participate in seminars and courses outside of the doctoral programme. In this case, the corresponding certificate of participation must be provided, as well as the programme of contents of the seminar and the approval of the advisor authorising it.

Students participating in conferences must submit a certificate of attendance. Students presenting papers at the conference must submit a certificate of conference presentation at the corresponding conference.

Students must participate in the annual Doctoral Conferences, presenting the progress of their research in person. A record will be kept of the attendance control at the doctoral conferences. Participation in the annual Doctoral Conference may be counted as 6 hours of training activities.
