English is the lingua franca of Science. Those of us who are not native speakers of that language, in addition to learning the vocabulary, have to adopt structures and styles with which we are not familiar. This makes it more difficult that, when writing our scientific publications, we have to correct a good part of our texts.
The "Scientific English" workshop is aimed at students of this doctoral program, with the purpose of helping you know and improve your scientific writing style in English. Through a series of videos and webinars, you will study and practice a large number of rules, tips and resources that will help you improve the expression of your investigations.
This workshop is taught online, over three weeks, with two types of activities:
Some videos, which you can watch at your own pace, and in which we present a series of content on scientific writing.
Two webinars, where you can comment and discuss your doubts with the teacher. The first webinar will be given on March 11; the second, on March 25 (subgroup 1) and March 28 (subgroup 2).
The teacher is Carlo Pesce, professor of Pathological Anatomy at the University of Genoa, and an experienced teacher in the use of scientific English. He is the author of the book "Medical English" (Zanichelli publishing house).
This course is valid for the DAD and will be recognized as an activity. The certificate of attendance will be issued for those students who attend more than 80% of the duration of the webinars.
The number of places offered for this edition is twenty people.
If you are interested in taking the workshop, you must access the virtual teaching platform. In the "Groups" link, you will find an informative message and a button to register. Click on that button; A new window will open, where you have to confirm the registration, by clicking again on the button that appears.
